We invite Visual Artists and Curators of Art Projects to apply for an intensive, creative international Residency in Stockholm.
This residency is a unique opportunity to accelerate your career development on the global art market. It connects the exchange of curatorial and artistic potential with creative practice.
💎 Who Can Apply?
Visual Artists and Curators from all over the world.
We welcome both experienced creators and beginners and associated or informal artistic groups with strong potential and motivation for development.
💎 How to Apply?
Deadline: until 18:00 CET (Central European Time), November 10, 2025.

The number of available places is limited. Selection will be made by the Residency Curator. Confirmation of qualification will be sent via email.
💎 Main Goals of the Residency
The Residency focuses on international exchange of experiences and stepping out of your comfort zone. We aim for:
– Networking: Initiating collaboration and building relationships between Artists and Curators from different countries.
– Career Development: Creative exchange of knowledge and experiences that strengthens your position on the art market and suggests new directions.
– Research Process: Analysis of potential and differences in art markets and cultural contexts across various countries, with a special focus on Sweden.
– Mutual Inspiration: Stimulating new directions in artistic practices and creative processes.
– Live Collaborative Creation: A Performance or Installation in a Gallery Space.
– Exhibitions: Joint creation of a Virtual Reality (online) exhibition and a physical exhibition at the Royal Blue VA Gallery in Stockholm.
All residency activities are structured to support the creation of new artistic work, conceptual development, artistic research, and the cultivation of long-term professional relationships.

– Accessibility and the EU Directive in relation to art projects.

– Narrative in art: modern standards.

– Charitable activity in the context of art and its potential.
The Results for You:
– New relationships with curators from various countries and media.
– New artworks developed in new directions.
– Live Collaborative Creation: A Performance or Installation in a Charity Art Gallery in Stockholm, Presented as a Special Event.
– Participation in a Group exhibition at the Royal Blue VA Gallery in Stockholm.
– As part of the residency, participants will collaboratively create a Group Virtual Reality online exhibition at Royal Blue Virtual Reality Gallery. The Virtual Reality exhibition, and an exhibition video will be available on the gallery’s social media.

Certificates

  • Participants present at the events onsite will receive certificates confirming their participation in the Performance, VR Exhibition, Gallery Exhibition, and the Residency.
  • Participants who choose the online-only option will receive a download link for certificates confirming their participation in the VR Exhibition and the Online Residency.
  • Certificates are issued based on required commitment and project engagement. In case of absence from key activities, the awarding of the Certificate will be at the discretion of the Residency Curator.

The Residency Fee includes, respectively:

  1. Onsite Residency in Stockholm: The cost of space for creative meetings, equipped Galleries for performance, exhibition and the cost of tools and equipment necessary for project implementation.
  2. Online Residency: The cost for providing the online infrastructure for meetings and the Virtual Reality exhibition.

The Stockholm Residency Fee does not include:

  • Travel and baggage costs.
  • Accommodation and meals.
  • Additional costs not foreseen by the Organizer, resulting from the participants’ aspirations.
💎 Grant/Financial Support

Participants will receive support from the Organizer in the process of finding and applying for grants (national or, for example, from European Union funds). These grants can cover the costs of participating in the Residency and selected expenses, such as accommodation, flights, meals, etc.

In your application, please state which funding you plan to apply, as well as the deadlines and requirements of the Grant Provider (for example, a Letter of Intent confirming your qualification to participate in the project), and your chosen participation option.

The Residency Organizer is committed to adjusting the Residency conditions to meet the reasonable and justified needs of the Grant Provider, such as payment deadlines, invoices, or marking promotional materials with a special note and logos.

💎Intellectual Property and Promotion

The participant grants the Organizer consent for the free of charge use and publishing of the submitted materials (portrait photo, information about the artist, and images of works) for selection, promotion, and communication purposes related to the Residency and the Organizer’s activities.

The participant grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license for promotional use of photographic and video documentation created during the Residency, Perormance and Exhibitions (including the participant’s name, likeness, and images of their works). This license covers promotion on the Organizer’s websites, social media, and materials related to the Residency, as well as sharing with the Organizer’s partners, media, and grant providers.

The Organizer permits the participant to use the provided promotional materials (photos, videos, and documentation from the Residency and Exhibitions) free of charge for the participant’s own artistic promotion. In the event of grant funding, the Organizer also explicitly permits the Grant Provider to use these materials for their reporting and promotional needs, in accordance with the grant regulations.

💎GDPR / Data Protection

All personal data submitted (including CVs, bios, and portfolios) will be processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) solely for the purpose of evaluating applications, selecting participants, and administering the Residency program. The legal basis for processing is the necessity to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract [Article 6(1)(b) GDPR]. By submitting the application, you consent to the processing of your personal data for these purposes. For detailed information regarding your rights and data handling, please refer to the Organizer’s Privacy Policy.

💎 Moreover:

Reasonable needs of the artists must be agreed upon and approved by the Organizer before confirming participation in the Residency and before payment of the participation fee. The Organizer reserves the right to make minor organizational changes that do not affect the cost or dates of the onsite residency.
